Being faithful in the little things

Years ago there was a movie that had a scene where a cashier purposely gave too much change back to a young woman. She counted the changed, realized what he had done, thought about it, then put the money in her purse and left the store. The cashier then said to the man who had been behind her in line, "Did you see that? She just sold her character for $3.00".

The Bible tell us that if we are faithful in the little things we will be entrusted with greater things (Luke 16:10). One of the reasons being faithful in the little things in life is important is because it is a training ground. When you purpose to be a good steward of all that has been entrusted to you, no matter how small, when the bigger issues of life arise, you will be ready. You will have peace and even anticipation to do the right thing because God has already shown you His faithfulness in the little things. As you trust in Him, He will entrust more to you and your relationship to the Lord grows stronger.

Your character before God is priceless. Treat it as such and watch how your life will be blessed.

Luke 16:10 - He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.

Luke 19:17 - "'Well done, my good servant!' his master replied. 'Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.'

When things don't go the way you planned

When things don't go the way you planned, then smile at God and say, "Okay have your way," confident that His way is so much better. Thank Him that He sees around corners that you don't and when you get a "no" to something you desire, rest assured that a greater "yes" is coming.

Proverbs 16:9 - In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.

Psalm 16:11 - You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

2 Corinthians 1:20 - For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.

Peace in the storms of life

We can have the peace of God when we choose to believe and trust in Him. His word tells us to "Be still and Know that He is God". We honor Him when we believe that He has our lives in His hand and that He is leading and guiding us for His names sake. What a compliment to Him when we don't let our fears have the final say but instead choose to trust Him. We may not understand the "who, why and what" of every situation, but as long as we have faith in the One who is the Author and Perfector of our faith, there is no need to worry. He is working ALLLLLL things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

So today I challenge you to quit telling God how big the storm is in your life and start telling the storm how big your God is.

Train your brain and memorize God's word!

Psalm 46:10 - Be still and know that I am God.

Psalm 31:3 - For Your names sake, You will lead me and guide me.

Hebrews 12:2 - Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Isaiah 12:2 - Behold, God is my salvation. I will trust and not be afraid.
