What Do You See?

I have an amazing friend who is training for an Ironman Triathlon that will take place in June. For those who don't know, an Ironman Triathlon is a long-distance race consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile, bike and a marathon 26.2-mile run, raced in that order and without a break.

I asked her how her training was going and below is her response. I love her attitude - even in pain and fatigue, she still sees God all around her.

"IM training is going well. We're in our last build phase. I keep trying to remind myself I won't be tired forever. And, I'm reminding myself to have fun with this. I'm not trying to set any records, just finish. Need to stop and smell the roses around me as I have this experience. I was riding Thursday and God gave me so many reminders of His presence. I saw a huge turtle crossing the trail that I had to avoid. Reminded me that slow and steady wins the race. Got mad at myself that I didn't take a pic. At the low water crossing saw a momma duck and her babies drinking on the dam. Reminded me that, when swimming I need to be a baby duck following it's momma, nothing more. A beautiful white tailed deer jumped across the road 25y in front of me by the lake. Reminded me to be springy when I run and run with abandon and joy. Finally, on the way back, I saw another big turtle crossing the trail. Ironically I stopped to take a pic and he was too fast for me. Got off the trail before I could snap a shot. So funny!

What a great example my friend is for us! Her eyes were open, so she saw, her ears were listening, so she heard. Life is a constant adventure when you are hanging out with the Creator of it all! There is never a dull moment and we become stronger everyday that we follow Him!

You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16:11
