Your Mission Statement for life.

A mission statement is a formal short written statement of the purpose of a company or organization. The mission statement should guide the actions of the organization, spell out its overall goal, provide a sense of direction, and guide decision-making. It provides "the framework or context within which the company´s strategies are formulated."

As important as it is for companies to have a mission statement, shouldn't we, as Christians, have a mission statement for life? Years ago, I sat down and thought about what the mission statement for my life would be and came up with the following:

"I want to make Jesus known to the world, and when I go to Heaven, I want to take as many people with me as I can."

It is wonderful to have a sense of purpose, a goal, a roadmap, and a plan. I highly encourage you to sit down and write out what you want the mission statement for your life to be. Good questions to ask yourself are:

1. What do you want to ?
2. How do you plan on doing it?
3. How do you plan on getting there?

Once you get serious about implementing your mission statement you will be amazed at the opportunities that will surround you to put it into action. I learned a long time ago that I when I get serious with God, He gets serious with me. You will feel peace and joy knowing that you are doing what you were created for.

2 Chronicles 16:9-
For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the whole earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.

ONLY ONE LIFE

Only one life, yes only one, Soon will its fleeting hours be done;
Then, in 'that day' my Lord to meet, And stand before His Judgement seat;
Only one life,'twill soon be past, Only what's done for Christ will last.

Only one life, the still small voice, Gently pleads for a better choice
Bidding me selfish aims to leave, And to God's holy will to cleave;
Only one life, 'twill soon be past, Only what's done for Christ will last.

Only one life, a few brief years, Each with its burdens, hopes, and fears;
Each with its clays I must fulfill, living for self or in His will;
Only one life, 'twill soon be past, Only what's done for Christ will last.

When this bright world would tempt me sore, When Satan would a victory score;
When self would seek to have its way, Then help me Lord with joy to say;
Only one life, 'twill soon be past, Only what's done for Christ will last.

Give me Father, a purpose deep, In joy or sorrow Thy word to keep;
Faithful and true what e'er the strife, Pleasing Thee in my daily life;
Only one life, 'twill soon be past, Only what's done for Christ will last.

Oh let my love with fervor burn, And from the world now let me turn;
Living for Thee, and Thee alone, Bringing Thee pleasure on Thy throne;
Only one life, "twill soon be past, Only what's done for Christ will last.

Only one life, yes only one, Now let me say,"Thy will be done";
And when at last I'll hear the call, I know I'll say "twas worth it all";
Only one life,'twill soon be past, Only what's done for Christ will last.
